Research subject: Reproduction of SpinLumi root files for analysis of BBC single spin asymmetry with ZDC coincidence. Contact person: Kiyoshi Tanida (ext. 3265, tanida@rarfaxp.riken.go.jp) Other persons: Yuji Goto (goto@bnl.gov) Summary of this reserach: In the analysis of single transeverse-spin asymmetry in PHENIX BBC, a hint for finite asymmetry is found in BBC-ZDC coincidence data. However, lack of information in the present SpinLumi files prevents us from performing further detailed analysis. So, we decided to reproduce SpinLumi with necessary ZDC information. SpinLumi is directly produced from PRDF files. Estimated CPU time: Unknown (need to be tested) Estimated disk space required: Disk space for produced SpinLumi files -- 100 GB Temporal space for PRDF files -- 1 TB (as much as possible) The total size of PRDF files is as large as 10 TB, which cannot be accomodated in disks. Realistic requirement is based on data amount which can be extracted from HPSS in 12 hours -- 1 TB. Estimated space required in HPSS: 100 GB for produced SpinLumi files Target date for completion: 03/31/03. Plan for publication: The result will be published as a PHENIX result, if possible.
