Seq. Number (TBA ) Research Plan at RIKEN CC-J Date: 14/06/04 (DD/MM/YY) To: the Planning and Coordination Office of RIKEN CC-J Reseach Subject : Single electron simulation for d-Au at sqrt(s_NN)=200GeV (PHENIX official or not : no ) Person responsible for this reserch: Name : Tsuguchika TABARU Tel/Fax : +1-631-344-4104 E-mail : tsugu@riken.jp Person responsible for the job submission: Name : Tsuguchika TABARU Tel/Fax : +1-631-344-4104 E-mail : tsugu@riken.jp Other collabrators in this research subject: Name : Yasuyuki AKIBA, Fukutaro KAJIHARA, Manabu TOGAWA tel/Fax: E-mai: akiba@rcf.rhic.bnl.gov, kajihara@bnl.gov, togawa@nh.scphys.kyoto-u.ac.jp Summary of this research (10-100 lines) This is a simulation project of RHIC-PHENIX experiment. We will generate about 2e9 pi0, according to the production cross section in sqrt(s_{NN})= 200 GeV d-Au collisions, and evaluate the spectrum of single electrons coming from pi0 Dalitz decays and gamma conversions. We also evaluate the effect of the photon converter, which was a blass cylinder of thickness of 0.01 inches and was installed to evaluate the spectrum shape of conversion electrons.. The kinematic region of pi0 is -0.5--0.5 in rapidity, 0.5--10 in transverse momentum, 2 pi-- in phi and -30 -- 30 in vertex-z. The acceptance of the simulation is the central arms of RHIC-PHENIX experiment. We use PISA2000 and a reconstruction cord of PHENIX official, whose versions are pro.54. Anyway, this need huge computing power. Thus, we will make a proposal to RCCS as soon as possible. Estimated CPU time required : 144000 hours (with Pentium III 1GHz) Estimated disk space usage required : 1000 GB Estimated HPSS space usage required : 1TB HPSS band width for above estimate : 1 MB/s Target date for completion : 20 / 7 /04 (DD/MM/YY)
