Proposal for a PHENIX officail Simulation/Production at PHENIX Computing Center in Japan (CC-J) Date: 25 / 06 / 2008 (DD/MM/YY) To: the Planning and Coordination Office of CC-J Title : Disk space for picoDSTs for analysis of single transverse-spin asymmetries for single electrons production from heavy-flavor decays in transversely polarized p+p collisions at sqrt(s) = 200GeV from RHIC-PHENIX Run-6 PWG : SpinPWG (PHENIX official or not : official ) Liason: Name : Seishi Dairaku Tel/Fax : 631-344-3858(BNL) E-mail : dairaku@scphys.kyoto-u.ac.jp Person responsible for the job submission: Name : Seishi Dairaku Tel/Fax : 631-344-3858 E-mail : dairaku@scphys.kyoto-u.ac.jp Person responsible for the quality assurance: Name : Seishi Dairaku Tel/Fax : 631-344-3858 E-mail : dairaku@scphys.kyoto-u.ac.jp Estimated CPU time required : hours (with PentiumIII 1GHz) Estimated disk space usage required : 200 GB Estimated HPSS space usage required : HPSS band width for above estimate : MB/s Target date for completion (cpu) : 31 / 03 / 2009 (DD/MM/YY) (disk): 31 / 03 / 2009 Purpose: We would like to measure the single transverse-spin asymmetries for single electrons production in transversely polarized p+p collisions at sqrt(s) = 200GeV from RHIC-PHENIX Run-6. If we measure any sizable spin asymmetry at midrapidity values, it indicates a nonzero Sivers gluon distribution funcion.
