The upgrade is for W physics. muons from W decay can tell us u,d(and their unti-quarks) spin-dependent parton distribution functions. Beacuse of the large mass of W , the muons from W have large momentum. So the strategy is to reject low momentum muons. We are planning to implement MuTr to LL1 trigger. With MuTr and the magnetic field , We can roughly measure the momentum of the muons in the trigger level. To estimate the rejection factor , We need minbias events(pp col. sqrts = 500GeV) And to compare simulation with real data, we also need 200GeV minbias data. Estimated CPU time required : 4000 hours (with Pentium III 1GHz) Estimated disk space usage required : 200 GB Estimated HPSS space usage required : 0 HPSS band width for above estimate : MB/s Target date for completion : 31 / 3 / 2004 (DD/MM/YY) Plan for the publication of this result (if possible)
